Commissions
Some places hold a special meaning for us. A familiar shoreline, a family cottage, or a favourite view can evoke memories and a sense of connection that lasts a lifetime.
I welcome commissions that celebrate these meaningful places, particularly the landscapes and shorelines of the Saugeen Bruce Peninsula and surrounding areas.
Working in oils and soft pastels, I collaborate with collectors to create original paintings that reflect both the character of a place and the feelings associated with it. I also offer small plein air paintings presented in mint tins for those seeking a more intimate keepsake.
If you have a place in mind that you would love to see captured in a painting, I would be happy to discuss the possibilities with you.

The Commission Proces
Prices are in Canadian dollars and are provided as a guide. Final pricing may vary depending on the painting surface, subject, and specific requirements of the commission. Framing is additional where applicable. Soft pastel paintings require professional framing under glass for display. I will provide a detailed quote before we proceed.
Let's Discuss Your Painting
If you have a special place you'd love to see captured in a painting, I'd be delighted to hear from you. Please get in touch to tell me a little about your idea, and we can explore the possibilities together.

Soft Pastel Paintings
My goal is to create a painting that resonates with you and captures what makes your chosen place special. Good communication is an important part of that process, and I want you to be delighted with the finished artwork.
1. Initial Inquiry and Planning
Contact me through my website with a description of the place or subject you have in mind. You're welcome to include photographs, or we can discuss the possibility of my visiting the location to take reference photographs.
We'll arrange a conversation, either in person or by video call, to discuss the subject, atmosphere, size, orientation, and medium. We'll also review framing options, estimated costs, and the anticipated completion date.
Once we've agreed on the details, I'll confirm the arrangements before beginning your painting.
2. Creating Your Painting
As I work, I'll share photographs of the painting's progress so you can follow its development.
When the painting is nearing completion, I'll send you a photograph and invite your feedback. Where practical, I'll consider adjustments, although the possibilities will depend on the medium and the nature of the requested changes.
3. Completion and Delivery
Once the painting is finished and approved, we'll arrange any framing, final payment, and collection or delivery.
Oil paintings require approximately one month of curing time before they can be collected or shipped. Soft pastel paintings can generally be prepared for framing or delivery once completed.
The estimated time to complete an oil painting is at least three months from the start of painting; for a soft pastel painting, approximately two months. These are estimates, and we'll discuss the anticipated schedule before proceeding.
Commission Fees and Deposit Terms
Landscape Paintings
No deposit is required for landscape commissions. If you are not completely satisfied with the finished painting, you are under no obligation to purchase it. I may then offer the painting for sale to another collector.
Close-up Paintings of Homes or Cottages
A 50% deposit is required following our planning meeting, once we have agreed to proceed.
If you are not completely satisfied with the finished painting, your deposit can be applied as a credit toward another original painting or print of your choice.
Final Payment
The remaining balance is due before collection, delivery, or shipping. Any additional framing costs will be confirmed in advance.
